I’ve been looking forward to reading the answers to this interview myself so I hope you all enjoy it the wonderful twinkly emo 2-piece, Nai Harvest.
Hello guys, Could you introduce yourselves and tell me what both of you do in the band?

I’m Ben, and i play guitar and shout
I’m Lew and i play drums
So, Firstly I know you’ve lost a couple of members on your way to this point, If you don’t mind please explain, who, why and what sort of effect it has had on the band.
our first drummer Sami (who wrote/recorded Ceiling Summer with us) moved to Birmingham and didn’t really want to keep travelling back and forth or anything. he’s an amazing guy but a lazy one! so we got Lew in, which has been awesome because he’s probably the best drummer ever and we get on really well. Then sadly Jake (bass) left due to heavy work commitments which sucked but his career and life is a lot more important that this little band. so now we’re just staying a 2-piece because we don’t really want to replace Jake.
the new songs are sounding more ‘2-piecey’ if you will, but we’ve not changed our sound or anything, we’re dead happy with the overall feel of the music we make so why change it. At shows now the guitar goes through two guitar cabs, which is loud and keeps it full.
so yeah, we’re really into being a 2-piece ‘cus we get alot done and have a proper laugh together.
You guys are from Sheffield correct? How’s your scene there? Is there much of a scene for people crying to emo music?
Yeah. it’s getting better. Sheffield has a lot of shows and doesn’t get enough credit for how many people put effort into them. Robbie McKinney & Paddy Carely and Runalone Records are putting on more emo shows and we’re helping out with it too.
Your split with Papayèr was released November last year. What were you expectations for that release? Were you pleased with how it was received by people?
The tapes sold out pretty quick which was nice! Papayer are amazing so i guess that helped. we played Redhouse Sheffield and 27 Albany road house show in Manchester with Papayer as the release shows and they were both really fun.
I know for a fact I’m excited for the new 7” that is being planned, are there any release dates/concepts for that 7’?
Should be out in June on Pinky Swear, Struggletown and A Mountain Far Records. we’re really excited. it’s 4 new songs but we have no idea about a release show or anything yet. we’ll probably do patches or stickers or something to go with the 7” though.
I know you’re playing a show with Prawn and It’s accompanied with a vegetarian barbecue which I personally think is great. Are you excited about the show and do you think more shows should have things like that?
yeah; excited and nervous. we’re helping with the show and hope enough people turn up to pay all the bands, but it’ll be a fun day regardless! all the bands are awesome so it’s gunna be one big party.
Aside from the 7” and the show with Prawn are there any other releases/upcoming shows you want to talk about?
we’re on tour with the lovely Speedboat Salesmen; July 2nd - 9th. come to a date! (search ‘nai harvest and speedboat salesmen to a summer tour’ on facebook)
What would you say are the bands that have influenced you the most?
Ben - American Football. I started listening to them when i was about 14 and have wanted to start an emo band since then, so that’s one tick on the life list.
Lew - I guess it’s Algernon and Snowing all the way but I dunno if we should say that! So Blink 182 for me
Right, This is your time to recommend and bands you love in your local area/that you’re friends with/just in general.
always…Sunday League, Papayer, Speedboat Salesmen, Cavalcades, Manbearpig, Hindsights, Well Wisher, Grazes & Best Friends.
also check out Olde Pine from the states; they are the best 2-piece, In Arms from Sheffield if you are into heavy stuff and other emo bands from the UK like Zola, Your Neighbour the Liar, Model Radio and Ten Speed Bicycle.
also check out Get Into It, Struggletown, Pinky Swear and A Mountain Far Records, Zine & Not Heard and Different People Magazine. all awesome.
Last question. If you could tour with four bands to any four places, who and where would you pick?

Lew - Slipknot and only Slipknot, but just do four houses on my road, that way we wouldnt have to sit in a van with them…I bet they fuckin’ stink!
Ben - Limp Bizkit, Fleetwood Mac, Usher, Justin Timberlake. seriously! I’m thinking 5-way world tour!
Thank you so much for answering these questions. I wish for the best in your future as a 2-piece.
Cheers man!
